Inland Rail is a 1700km freight rail network that will connect Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. It is a critical legacy project for Australian freight transportation, providing significant economic and environmental benefits for future generations.
Since 2010, WSP has played a role on the project starting work on a comprehensive feasibility study of route options to now delivering 5 of the 11 Inland Rail packages. Fast forward to 2020, the team is grateful to have been selected to deliver the reference design and accompanying primary approvals documentation for Albury to Illabo and Stockinbingal to Parkes projects.

Our current role will see us adopt an integrated environmental engineering approach that champions constructability and innovation in design. We will be providing a range of investigations including ecological and geotechnical surveys as well as providing stakeholder engagement, technical interface management and management of impacts to road assets and rail planning services.
Combining the two projects under the same package will lead to cost effectiveness and added efficiencies in project delivery. With our long-standing history on Inland Rail, our team will draw on our substantial experience on the project and in-depth knowledge to deliver successful outcomes.
