Maintaining the health of Sydney’s waterways including beaches, rivers and tributaries is becoming more challenging as the thriving city’s population continues to grow.
Sydney Water has appointed the “Delivering for Customers” (D4C) – a joint venture between John Holland, Lendlease Services, Comdain and WSP – as a Regional Delivery Contractor, under its Partnering for Success (P4S) program to service the customers of today and tomorrow.
The joint venture will be responsible for the delivery of design, construction, maintenance and facility management across Sydney Water’s assets in the Southern region for the next 10 years.
The program aims to meet the future needs of Sydney’s growing population and will deliver greater value to Sydney Water and its customers through reduced costs and improved efficiency of capital and maintenance delivery ensuring Sydney’s iconic way of life is maintained for the community.
The D4C integrated regional delivery team has committed to delivering at least 70% of the works through its directly employed workforce and owned plant. This commitment will ultimately support economic and employment benefits to local communities, while in tandem growing a strong collaborative and inclusive culture and diversity of thought within D4C.
Dean Toomey, WSP’s Director of Water says, “We are inspired by Sydney Water’s vision for P4S and our team's focus is to leave a positive legacy for their customers and communities of Sydney.
“Leveraging our existing strong relationship with Sydney Water and existing delivery partner programs such as the Lower South Creek Treatment Program, there are great opportunities to provide value in delivering safe and reliable water solutions for our customers, ensuring Sydney’s iconic way of life is maintained for the community and proudly partnering together as a region to achieve the greatest success for future generations.”
