Located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, close to Derby, RAAF Base Curtin forms a key part of the Australian Defence Force’s network of Northern air bases and plays a key role in supporting the training and operations of the ADF in North-Western Australia and the Indian Ocean. This project proposes to deliver major refurbishment/replacement of the base’s existing facilities and infrastructure.
Philip Massey, Client Director – Department of Defence, says, “With our local Perth-based team that’s highly experienced in delivering PMCA services for Defence, our strong understanding of our client’s needs, and our ability to manage the project solutions, we’re well placed to provide a quality client experience.
“We will oversee planning and managing the project: scoping program, cost-planning, procurement for designers and contractors and guiding the project through approvals gateways.”
With our comprehensive experience in working in remote areas and with WA Indigenous communities as well as engaging local indigenous specialist consultants, another big focus for our team will be to provide contracting opportunities for local businesses.
In WA, we are continuing our long track record of working across remote-area indigenous infrastructure projects including the Remote Essential and Municipal Services (REMS) Program with the WA Department of Communities (Housing) Western Australia. Our team has significant experience in program management, specifically dealing with essential services operations and capital works in remote locations by bringing together our capabilities in indigenous culture, logistics, Environment, Health and Safety specifications and remote area risks.
