The Guillermo Gaviria Echeverri Tunnel, also known as the Toyo Tunnel, constitutes a notable infrastructure project in Colombia, located in the northwest region of the country. This project covers a corridor of 18.3 kilometers, which begins in the municipality of Cañasgordas (Antioquia) and ends in the municipality of Giraldo (Antioquia).
The fundamental purpose of this road project is to improve connectivity and road infrastructure in the region. The Toyo tunnel stands out thanks to its length of 9,730 meters, making it the longest tunnel in America and the deepest at 900 meters below the profile of the mountain.
