The La Loma Photovoltaic Park, situated in the Cesar department of Colombia, has been successfully completed with over 400,000 solar panels interconnected in 22 subfields. The project has an installed capacity of 187 megawatts in direct current (MWdc) and marks a significant step towards the country's transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
The park is expected to generate 420 GWh/year of clean and renewable energy for the next 20 years, enough to meet the energy needs of around 600,000 citizens, while boosting the local economy.
Our WSP team in Colombia has been instrumental in ensuring that the highest standards of sustainability and environmental conservation were met during the project’s construction. Our experienced engineers and environmental consultants supported the environmental audit and monitoring process throughout, playing a vital role in the park’s success.
