In any project, it is essential to ensure that the materials being used meet industry standards. We have our own laboratories in some countries and have established a network of accredited soil laboratories across the world to assist with the assessment of concrete and cement-based products, asphalt paving, aggregates, structural steel, coatings, timber, and composites to support the investigations and design of a variety of Engineering disciplines.
The Materials Inspection and Testing Group conducts soil and footing inspections, reinforcing steel inspection, concrete testing with certified staff and laboratory facilities, structural steel inspection and shoring inspection. WSP is qualified and certified to conduct the necessary testing associated with geotechnical investigations of the physical/mechanical properties and characteristic behaviors of surface and subsurface earth materials. Notable projects include assessment of deterioration, corrosion, chemical attack, and failure of structures. A large part of our work relates to the assessment and rehabilitation of existing structures and the effective use of new and existing materials to achieve durability and extended service life.
Quality Management ensures we coordinate activities that direct and control processes related to Quality Planning, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Quality Improvement. WSP is a leading Quality Management specialist, providing comprehensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions for many large and demanding construction projects such as airports, bridges, highways, tunnels, marine shipping terminals, commercial and industrial buildings, power plants, and other facilities.
