WSP kicked-off the investigation study of a highly anticipated smart and green mass transit system to invigorate Kai Tak - Hong Kong’s former airport area and now a strategic development area – after we officially signed the contract with Civil Engineering and Development Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on 28 June 2024.
The 3.5 km-long elevated system will connect the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal to the MTR Kai Tak Station – linking up the residential belt in the former runway area, the Metro Park and Kai Tak Sports Park. It will ultimately drive tourism, cultural and recreational, sports, residential and commercial developments in Kai Tak.
As one of the city’s first elevated transit systems, it’s our honour to support Hong Kong’s push for smart mobility adopting green innovative transportation technologies. We will make every effort to provide a thorough examination to facilitate the realisation of a sustainable and robust transit system to shape a vibrant and prosperous community.
