The Jeddah Storm
Water Program (JSWP) complements Jeddah Stormwater Drainage Programme
(JSDP). Both programmes were launched to revive the city’s drainage system,
ensure the city’s infrastructure longevity, and help mitigate the effects of
flooding that Jeddah has experienced in recent years.
Spanning a total of over
171,600 hectares, JSWP will serve more than 2.5 million people. Till the end of 2022, the ongoing projects under the
supervision of WSP (22 projects) are covering about 25% of the targeted area
and serving over 450 thousand people with a total cost of CAD 712 million.
The Programme Scope includes
the construction of 5 pumping stations, more than 382 thousand meters of pipes,
over 3600 manholes, 2900 catch basins, and 5,480 meters of box culverts.
