Inclusive Underground Station Design

WSP has delivered inclusive designs for underground stations across the world. By applying user-focused solutions, our teams made them inclusive and accessible for the people using them. John Harding, Technical Director of WSP’s Rail Planning Group, explains how his team approaches such projects and their impressive outcomes

Underground stations can be busy and crowded, so designing them to be inclusive for everybody is challenging. Increasingly urbanised populations bring demands from a more diverse range of underground station users along with the need for a human-centred approach to design.
