The first, the “Visionnaire” award, was awarded to the Promenade Samuel-De Champlain project, while the second, the “Grand Prix du génie-conseil québécois 2024” in the Environment category, went to the smartWhales project.
Promenade Samuel-De Champlain - “Visionnaire” Award
The “Visionnaire” award went to WSP for its key role in the transformation of the Promenade Samuel-De Champlain, a complex, multidisciplinary project carried out in collaboration with AtkinsRéalis. This project, already the recipient of a Governor General’s Medal for Architecture, is a major urban redevelopment initiative located on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, between the Champlain ferry terminal and the Cap-Rouge marina. It aims to transform the Champlain Boulevard into an urban promenade, offering Québec City residents improved access to the river as well as recreational and tourist spaces.
