The new park has 4650 m2of children's playgrounds, two lagoons (one for water sports and the other for wildlife conservation), two accesses to the Mapocho River, 1350 m2 of facilities for different sports, two artificial soccer fields, five multi-purpose sports fields, a speed skating rink with a figure skating area, two skateparks, a free climb/bouldering area, 950 m2 of water game plazas, an athletics track and outdoor recreation opportunities amid the natural setting and landscaped grounds.
Construction of the first of the Mapocho River Park’s six stages began in late December 2020. Since then, WSP has supported and advised SERVIU Metropolitano’s Technical Inspection Division on measurements, technical evaluations, Gantt chart follow-up (project management monitoring), layout planning/delivery, discussions and decision-making, all aimed at ensuring the safety and quality of the completed project.
