Smarter material choice
WSP assists clients in identifying materials with lower embodied carbon through using digital engineering. Our generated outcomes help with identifying opportunities to enhance sustainability performance and meet the social, economic and environmental requirements.
Digital tools for sustainable designs
WSP possesses the expertise to develop comprehensive, information-rich Building Information Modelling (BIM) models for bridges and civil structures, starting from the initial concept phase of the design cycle.
To effectively manage carbon emissions and provide accurate reporting to our clients, we utilize in-house Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools integrated with BIM, as well as Onclick LCA and EC3 for automated carbon footprint measurements. For instance, LCPro, a WSP tool, presents the user information regarding total emissions for the entire structure as well as the contribution of each life cycle stage, structural component and material; thus, supporting the engineer while modifying the bridge design for a more climate-friendly solution.
