The assessment evaluated potential climate-related physical risks to business-critical sites under historic conditions and applied to future climate projections from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 8.5 scenario, otherwise known as the "business as usual" trajectory. This qualitative assessment of critical sites across the US, India, Mexico, Malaysia and China is considered a first step to evaluate the current and projected physical risks, which will inform future business planning and investment decisions across the company’s global operations, supply chain, and revenue sources.
Through this work, our client named climate change as a risk for the first time in their annual report to shareholders and in much more depth in their first Environmental, Social And Governance Report.
