Asset Management Planning

Deciding where to prioritize funding allocation to keep the US aging infrastructure in safe conditions is a problem that affects multiple industries. While limited funding is at the forefront of this issue, understanding the risks posed by disinvesting is also fundamental to be able to justify funding requests.

Since 2017, WSP’s Asset Management Business Advisory has been working with transit agencies in forecasting asset investment needs to determine the strategies and level of funding required to address backlog, keep assets in a state of good repair, and prioritize funding where it is most needed.

To support the decision-making process, our team uses am2p – an in-house tool that uses available asset data and stakeholder inputs, to translate asset needs into capital projects and create the capital plan.
