“Everyone in my office and on my team has been super helpful and welcoming. By visiting a handful of sites throughout the region, I've been able to see how my work is actually making an impact. It was really nice to get to see the projects I'm working on in the real world, rather than just from behind a computer screen.”

“I’m so grateful to have started my career at WSP, which truly showed me how an architect can make an impact within the transportation industry and its communities. WSP’s mentoring support helped cultivate me into becoming the professional that I am today with the opportunity to also excel within my other passions of emerging professional development, and inclusion, diversity and equity."

What is the internship program like?

You’ll gain hands-on experience working on cutting-edge infrastructure, environment and engineering projects that make a real-world impact. Our interns are embedded into project teams, contributing to meaningful tasks that align with your academic studies and career interests. Check out what past interns have said: The Intern Experience at WSP

What is the duration of the internship program?

Our internship program typically runs for 12 weeks during the summer, though year-round opportunities are available for students who want to continue building their experience during the academic year.

Are there opportunities for professional development?

Absolutely. Embark on your journey as an early career professional with our Summer Intern Program providing professional development opportunities to connect interns with company leaders, industry experts and peers from coast to coast. Interns also get a head start in joining our Developing Professionals Network, a global employee community that fosters career growth through leadership panels, technical sessions, volunteer events and peer-to-peer connections.

Will I have a mentor?

Yes. Every intern is paired with a dedicated mentor who provides technical guidance, career advice and support throughout your internship. Many interns describe this relationship as one of the most rewarding parts of their experience at WSP in the U.S.

What is the work environment like?

We take pride in our collaborative and dynamic culture. You’ll be a valued member of the team—encouraged to make an impact by sharing your ideas and contributing your perspective.

Is the internship paid?

Yes. We offer competitive hourly pay that reflects your skills, experience and geographic location.

How do I apply?

You can explore current internship openings on our Careers Page (Job Opportunities – filter to internships.) or connect with us at campus events and career fairs. We recommend applying early, as our positions are highly competitive and fill quickly.

Who is eligible to apply for WSP Internship?

Our internship program is open to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in the United States.

Do you offer visa sponsorship for interns?

WSP does not provide visa sponsorship for interns. Students must have a valid, pre-existing, or school-facilitated U.S. work authorization such as F-1 Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT) with a valid EAD to be eligible to apply for any WSP in the U.S. internship opportunities.
