Ricardo (Rick) Cardentey is a senior vice president at WSP and serves as the program management and construction management (PMCM) national business line lead for transportation and infrastructure, which is responsible for setting national growth strategy, supporting major program management pursuits, fostering consistency across WSP’s two PMCM regions, and overseeing major national program managers. His primary focus lies in building program management capacity in Energy, Water and Earth & Environment, while driving growth in Transportation. Rick also leads the Project Controls and Technology services national practice with over 210 professionals focused on driving innovation and supporting the successful delivery of projects for all markets and business lines across all geographies. In his 30 years at WSP, Rick has held successive roles as a civil engineer, project controls manager and program manager on multibillion-dollar projects, including the reconstruction of the 1 and 9 Subway Lines after 9/11, the extension of the NYC’s No. 7 Subway to Hudson Yards, the Gateway Trans-Hudson Tunnel, and Amtrak’s New Jersey High-Speed Rail Program. Prior to taking his current role, he has held a number operational positions, including the New York office deputy area manager, the Northeast Region operations manager, and the finance director for PM/CM sector.

Rick earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Manhattan College and masters of science degrees in transportation planning and transportation engineering from New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering.
