Onshore challenges included routing a new transmission line through a very congested and heavily-populated community, sensitive to environmental justice issues. Feedback from the community would be critical to the success of the routing study.
Dominion Energy deployed GeoVoice — a custom website we developed — to collect public input and deliver announcements to registered users. GeoVoice shared more than 50,000 invitations to the public and stakeholders, asking for comments on the project. The website collected more than 130,000 unique engagements.
Our team also helped with project permitting for CVOW by creating more than 50 photo simulations. These photos overlayed simulations of how the project infrastructure would look and impact local communities, and were both included in the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) permit application. Additionally, simulations were also used as design tools for communicating project impacts with local stakeholders and to equip other vendors supporting the project.
